Technical Note - Glass Terminology 'Antique' means that the glass is handmade, not that it is old! 'Flashed' glass is one colour glass with a thin layer of another colour glass fused to the top, allowing the artist to sandblast through the top layer e.g. red on yellow or blue on clear. N.B. Do not use glass cleaner on any item which is gilded as this can cause discolouration. However, with the exception of the mirrors, items should normally only need to be dusted with a soft cloth to keep them clean. Click here to find out more about the artist, Carole.
